• Quick startOnce the request is received, the notary has 15 calendar days to attempt initial contact or hold a meeting. If there is no activity within 30 days, the file may be closed.
• Maximum durationIf no agreement is reached within 3 months of the first meeting, or if no response is received to a proposal within 30 days, the process ends unless the parties agree to continue.
• Legal effectsDuring the process, the statute of limitations and expiration periods are interrupted or suspended. If no agreement is reached, a general one-year period is opened for filing a claim.
